Coming off an impressive performance in the NFL playoffs, Lester Cotton has re-signed with the Miami Dolphins. The talented left guard, who played all 71 offensive snaps in Sunday's game, signed a reserve/future contract with the team.
A reserve/future contract allows a player to join an NFL team's roster when it expands from 53 to 90 players during the offseason. This opportunity will be available to Cotton on March 15, the first day of the NFL's 2023 business year. As a newly signed player, Cotton will be eligible to participate in offseason workouts, minicamps, and organized team activities (OTAs) alongside his fellow Dolphins.
It's important to note that reserve/future contracts are exclusively offered to players who are not currently on NFL active rosters. This presents an exciting chance for Cotton to showcase his skills and make a lasting impact on the Miami Dolphins.
Prior to his stint with the Dolphins, Cotton spent most of the season with the Las Vegas Raiders. However, injuries along the offensive line prompted Miami to elevate him from the practice squad to active status for Sunday's postseason game. Cotton rose to the occasion and played every snap in his Miami debut.
